Answer honestly โ this protects your horse and others. Providing false or incomplete information is grounds for immediate removal of your horse without refund. You are financially liable for any harm caused to other animals by undisclosed conditions.
In the event of a medical emergency and you cannot be reached, A&L Farms is authorized to seek emergency veterinary care on your behalf. All costs are your responsibility.
Under the Alabama Equine Activity Liability Act (Code of Alabama ยง 6-5-337), A&L Farms and its agents are not liable for injury, death, or property damage resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities. Owner assumes all such risks.
Owner is solely responsible for all veterinary costs, farrier costs, feed, supplements, and any other expenses related to their horse's care. A&L Farms provides shelter, water, and standard handling only.
Pursuant to Alabama law, A&L Farms holds an agister's lien on the boarded horse for any unpaid boarding or care fees. If fees remain unpaid for 30 days, A&L Farms may exercise its rights under applicable Alabama lien statutes.
Boarding fees are due on the 1st of each month. A late fee may apply after 7 days. Owner agrees to maintain current payment throughout the boarding period.
Owner authorizes A&L Farms to seek emergency veterinary care up to the spending limit listed above when Owner cannot be reached. Owner is responsible for all resulting costs.
Owner releases A&L Farms, its owners, agents, and employees from any and all liability for injury, illness, death, or loss of the horse occurring during the boarding/training period, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
Owner warrants that the horse is in good health, current on vaccinations, and has a current negative Coggins upon arrival. Owner agrees to notify A&L Farms immediately of any known health conditions.
Owner visits are welcome during reasonable hours by prior arrangement. Owner assumes all risks while on A&L Farms property and agrees to follow all posted safety rules.
Either party may terminate this agreement with 14 days written notice. A&L Farms reserves the right to request immediate removal of any horse deemed a danger to other animals or people.
Boarding fees are due monthly. A 5-day grace period applies after the due date, after which a late fee applies. A 30-day written notice is required to terminate this agreement.
Returned checks incur a $50 fee. Unauthorized chargebacks constitute a breach of this agreement.
A&L Farms reserves the right to photograph the boarded horse for farm records and promotional use.
Owner is fully responsible for any injury to persons, other horses, or property caused by their horse and agrees to indemnify A&L Farms from all related claims.
If Owner fails to maintain adequate feed supply, A&L Farms may purchase feed at Owner's cost plus a $25 service fee.
This agreement is month-to-month and automatically renews on the 1st of each month. Either party may terminate with 30 days written notice. No refunds are issued for partial months after notice is given. A&L Farms reserves the right to terminate immediately if the horse poses a danger to people or other animals, or if payment is more than 30 days past due.
This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties. Any modifications must be in writing and signed by both parties. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, Morgan County courts.
